The Advantages of Au Pairing in Dublin
Between the formal structure of classes and the real-life situation of living with a family, learners can build their fluency both in spoken and formal English in the most practical way possible by having to deal with everyday situations through contact with English-speaking children and families.
The Au Pair has the double benefit of being able to practise what they have learnt in the classroom at home and being able to use the class to explore further what they have learnt about Irish culture. In essence, the Au Pair is constantly moving between two learning environments.
The English Study Programme for Au Pairs
Students will study mainly in the evening in our courses from 6.45pm-8.45pm 2 days per week either on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. They can study our General English or Business English classes or our Exam Preparation courses which include the Cambridge suites of exams.
In our Morning programme students will study in the morning during times convenient both to them and their family.
Is this the course for me?
Being an au pair is not a holiday. Students will be expected to look after and develop a relationship with the family’s children, as well as helping around the house. On top of this there is the challenge of learning English. However, this can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Au pairs can greatly improve their English which they will have for the rest of their lives. Through au pairing they can also establish friendships and contacts which can continue well into the future.
On average Au Pairs are given around €100 pocket money per week. All families and accommodation have been visited and approved by Delfin staff.
Please contact us if you are interested in being an Au Pair or a Host Family.
