Delfin provides courses to prepare students for most of the major internationally recognised English exams including:

Cambridge Exams - General English (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE)

PET

Incorporating all the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, this exam prepares the learner to successfully interact in a spoken and written  form at intermediate (B1) level. As part of the Cambridge suite of exams, this exam is recognised internationally around the world.

FCE

Pitched at an upper intermediate (B2) level, this exam tests the four skills in a manner perfect for the student who wishes to use English in a working or a study situation. As part of the Cambridge suite of exams, this exam is recognised internationally around the world.

CAE

For higher level students (C1), the CAE provides an internationally recognised exam which is valid for life. Students completing the CAE would be expected to be able to understand complex opinions and express themselves well with a good degree of fluency.

Although these exams test the four basic skills, there is still an emphasis on conversation in the classes.

CPE

The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English is a very advanced exam which corresponds to the C2 level in the European Common Framework. This course is for learners who have already achieved a high level of English but who want to express even more subtle shades of meaning in complex language. The paper involves reading, writing, use of English, listening and speaking and once achieved is widely considered the pinnacle of English language learning.

Business English Exams (BEC)

As well as our regular Business courses we also prepare for the BEC exams. These are a suite of Cambridge business exams which are designed to test English language ability used in the context of business.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

Opening the door to both education and employment, the IELTS exam is internationally recognised and indeed is compulsory for entrance to many university courses. Available in a general and academic course, depending on the needs of the learner.

TIE (Test of Interactive English)

The Test of Interactive English is fully recognised by the Irish Department of Education and Science and follows the Council of Europe’s Common Framework of Language Proficiency. The TIE exam is composed of a speaking and a writing test and can be taken by students of any level.
